Birthday Letter to my Middle son on his 10th Birthday

I had three boys in three and a half years, so the baby books in our house did not get the attention they deserved. To make up for my incomplete baby books, I started writing my boys annual birthday letters. Each year, on their special days, I write my boys letters detailing all the little things about their personalities that I love and cherish. Today, I am sharing the birthday letter I wrote to my middle son on his 10th birthday.

To my sweet, spunky, and "up for anything" son,

I can't believe that you are now in double digits. I miss the toddler with the unruly curls, but I couldn't be more proud of the boy you have grown up to be. You are an adventurous boy with a kind heart, and I feel very grateful that I get to be your mom. Here are a few of the things that make you the special 10 year old boy that you are:
  • You have tons of friends. People love to be around you, and you love to surround yourself with people.
  • You have a sparkle in your eye and a devilish grin.
  • You got an orthodontic appliance this year, and although it was uncomfortable and prevented you from eating some of your favourite treats, you never complained.
  • You love to be outside with your brothers running around. You love "fat bat" baseball (a game you made up), hockey, tag, frisbee, softball, etc... If you are moving, you are happy!
  • Hockey is your favourite sport, and you love road trips with your buddies.
  • You are constantly making playlists on your iPad. You love music, and you love to sing (when you don't think anyone is listening).
  • You are very clever, and you love to figure things out and build things. (You enjoy Sudoku and LEGO.)
  • You are always slow and often make us late when we are going places. You always need "five more minutes" or to complete "one more thing".
  • You love to cuddle. When I went on your class field trip this year, you sat on my lap and held my hand. You really don't care what other people think, and I admire your confidence!
You are strong willed, and sometimes drive me crazy, but you have a kind heart, and I wouldn't change a thing about you. I love you to the moon and back!

Love,

Mom xoxo

BIRTHDAY LETTER to my youngest son on his 8th birthday

Today, my "baby" turns eight. I seriously can't believe how fast time flies. It seems like yesterday I was getting up with him in the middle of the night to feed him and rock him back to sleep. In keeping with family tradition, last night I wrote him a birthday letter as a way of remembering all the little details that make him special. Here is my birthday letter to my youngest son on his 8th birthday.

To my darling, cuddly, sweet "baby" boy:

I am so proud to watch you find your way in the world as you work hard to build your confidence and conquer your anxiety in new social situations. You are a cautious boy, but this past year, you made new friends and tried new things.

On your 8th birthday, I want you to know that I love you more each day, and I feel totally blessed to be your mother. Here are some of things that make you the unique boy that you are:

  • Crackers are your favourite food. In particular, you love multi-grain wheat thins.
  • You have a sweet smile, and you have adorable freckles on your nose and cheeks.
  • Your nickname is "Bellzie" (like your brothers), and you answer to it proudly.
  • You love to read with me, and I love to read with you too! (We recently read "Charlotte's Web" together, and we both had tears in our eyes when Charlotte died... even though you hid your face and denied it.) :-)
  • You love to play anything with a ball or a puck, but hockey is still your favourite.
  • Riding your bike is one of your favourite things to do. It's really cute to watch you hop on your bike and "call for" your neighbourhood friends.
  • Playing with your brothers is still your favourite thing to do. You are always playing games or going on adventures together.
  • Your favourite colour is green, you love your "big blanket", and your hockey number this year was #5.
  • You are shy around new people, but with your friends and family you are a clown. You are always acting silly, and making us laugh with your funny dance moves.

I love you to the moon and back, and you will always be my "baby".

Lots of Love,

Mom

Birthday Letter to my Oldest Son on his 11th Birthday

In keeping with family tradition, today I am sharing a birthday letter to my oldest son on his 11th birthday. Each year (on my boys' birthdays), I write them letters in an attempt to capture a little bit of their personalities on paper. It's a tradition that is very special to me, and I am happy to have the opportunity to share it with you... my lovely readers. Here is this year's letter to my first born son.

My sweet and kind first born son,

As you are inching toward the teenage years, I am both sad that my little boy is slipping away, and happy to watch the wonderful young man that is emerging before my eyes. You are a kind, hard working, and loving boy, and I am proud to be your mother.

Here are a few reasons that you are the most special 11 year old I have ever met:

  • You have always had a mature soul, but I have noticed that this past year you have really started to get more independent and you have started taking on more responsibilities. I am impressed with the ease with which you are moving into this new stage of your life.
  • You are getting older, but I can still sneak a cuddle during movie night (when none of your friends are there to see).
  • Hockey is your passion. Even though you are young and small, you always work hard, and you play with lots of heart. Dad and I really admire your determination and work ethic.
  • You love playing mini sticks with your brothers, your favorite show is Sports Centre, and collecting and trading Tim Hortons hockey cards has become an obsession.
  • Your brothers continue to be your best buddies. You are always inventing fun games to play together. (I think "fat bat" baseball is your front yard favorite!)
  • You are continuing to practice the guitar, and you love playing. (I am super-impressed with your ability to watch a YouTube video and teach yourself a song.)
  • Peanut butter sandwiches are still your favorite snack... and now you can make them yourself.
  • Your favorite colour is blue, your hockey number is 18, and you dream of playing in the NHL.

Happy birthday, my angelic oldest boy. You may be getting older, but you will always be my baby boy. I love you to the moon and back!

Love,

Mom

BIRTHDAY LETTER to my middle son on his 9th birthday

Today my middle son turns 9, and in keeping with family tradition, I wrote him a birthday letter as a way of preserving a "snap shot" of the little details that make him so special. Here is my birthday letter to my middle son on his 9th birthday.

My Sweet Boy,

You have a sparkle in your eye and a spring in your step. You have a carefree and adventurous spirit, and people are drawn to you.

You have a ton of friends, get invited to countless birthday parties, and have people shouting your name everywhere we go.

You love to play sports (ALL sports), and dad and I love to watch you play.

You love music, but you are shy to let anyone hear you sing.

You have a wonderful mind for figuring things out. You love fixing things, building with LEGO, and coding on the computer.

You are a master negotiator. You're always asking for "one more" or "just another five minutes".

You are very kind, and you love being helpful.

You love to cuddle, and you give wonderful hugs and kisses.

You are confident, strong, and stubborn... and I wouldn't change a thing about you.

I love you to the moon and back, my darling boy!

Love,

Mom

BIRTHDAY LETTER for my youngest son on his 7th birthday

Today, my "baby" boy turns seven, so in keeping with family tradition, I wrote him a letter as a way of remembering all the little details that make him special. Here is my letter to my youngest son on his 7th birthday.

My dearest, sweet "baby" boy,

This was another big year for you as you continued to work hard at conquering your anxiety in new social situations. Though you continue to be a cautious boy, you are willing to try new things, and you are getting more confident with each passing year.

On your 7th birthday, I want you to know that I am very proud to be your mom, and I want to share some of the reasons you are such a special little boy:

  • You have a sweet smile, an awesome giggle, a gentle spirit, and adorable freckles on your nose and cheeks.
  • You love to cuddle... especially if I am reading you one of your favorite stories.
  • You have a love for reading, and you are getting really good at reading on your own. You are pretty proud of your ability to read "chapter books".
  • You took part in a multi-sport program this year (12 sports in 10 months), and you learned a lot of new skills. Hockey and Tai Kwon Do were your favourites!
  • You get pretty cranky when you get tired and/or hungry... but most of the time you are a sweet boy. ;-)
  • You love riding your bike and playing sports with your brothers, and you want to be a hockey player when you grow up.
  • You ask me for crackers a hundred times a day. I actually think you are happiest when you are sitting on the couch with a bowl of crackers watching a TV show.
  • You are getting very grown up... but I still catch you saying "bees" instead of "because". It's pretty cute!
  • You had a great year in Grade One. You loved your teacher, the new "month" song you learned each month, and the baby ducks you hatched in your class.
  • Your favorite color is green... especially sea-foam green.
  • You love white cake with white icing, and you often order vanilla ice cream when we go to an ice cream stand.
  • You are a bit of a clown with a wonderful sense of humour. Dad, your brothers, and I are always laughing at your silly antics and your crazy dance moves.
I love you to the moon and back my darling angel, and I hope you will always know how grateful I am to be your mother.

Lots of Love,

Mom xoxox

Birthday Letter to my Oldest son (on his 10th birthday)

In keeping with tradition, today I am writing a birthday letter to my oldest son on his 10th birthday. Birthday letters are my way of creating a written "snap shot" of my boys each year. I hope that some day they will enjoy looking back at the letters I have written, and that they will get a sense of how much their mother loves them.

To my oldest son:

I have no idea where the last ten years have gone. How on earth are you ten already? Although I wish I could slow down time, I couldn't be more proud of the young man you are becoming. You have a kind heart and a gentle spirit, and I am lucky to have you as my son.

Here are a few of the things that make you so special:

  • You don't like to show affection in front of your friends, but sometimes I still get to snuggle with you on the couch, and I treasure those moments together.
  • You love hockey... a lot! You play it, you watch it, you read about it, and you talk about it. You love watching Sports Centre each morning, and you are addicted to trading hockey cards.
  • You always strive to do your best. You are often the smallest and the youngest, but you don't give up, and it makes Dad and I very proud.
  • You and your brothers play together every day. You play sports, LEGO, games, mini sticks, Minecraft and more. You always find something fun to do together, and Dad and I love that you are such good buddies.
  • You are a wonderful guitar player, and I am impressed with your focus and musicality.
  • You still love peanut butter sandwiches, and it continues to be your favorite after-school snack.
  • Your favorite color is blue, your hockey number is 11, and you aren't sure what you want to be when you grow up (though I am sure it will be something awesome!).
Happy birthday, my little angel. You may be into double digits, but you will always be my first baby.

Love,

Mom xoxo

Birthday Letter... my middle son turns 8

Today my middle son turns 8, and in keeping with family tradition, I wrote him a birthday letter as a way of preserving a "snap shot" of the little details that make him so special. Here is my birthday letter to my middle son on his 8th birthday.

To my sweet middle son on your 8th birthday:

You have an adventurous spirit, and you have tons of friends. You are kind and fun, and people want to be around you.

You love being active. You enjoy riding your bike, playing tag, and running around the neighbourhood. You also love to play baseball, basketball, soccer, and hockey... and hockey is your favorite.

You are a sweet boy, and you are always looking for ways to be helpful.

You like to hold my hand, and you still give me a kiss every morning when I drop you off at school. I know that you will be "too old" for this soon, so I treasure each time you show me affection without the slightest bit of embarrassment.

You love to play with your brothers, and recently, you have started making little movies with them. I love watching your carefully choreographed Star Wars fight scenes. :-)

You enjoy building things... and you are excellent at it. You love LEGO, have your own tools, and talk about building houses when you get older.

Your favorite color is white, and you love apples and "sour keys" candy.

You are a caring and sensitive soul, you love your blankee, and you give awesome hugs.

You can be very stubborn, but you have a big heart, and I wouldn't change a thing about you.

I love you to the moon and back my sweet, spunky boy.

Love,

Mommy xoxo

Birthday Letter... my baby boys turns 6

Today, my "baby boy" turns six, and in keeping with family tradition, I wrote him a birthday letter as a way of remembering a few of the little details that make him so special.  Here is my birthday letter to my youngest son on his 6th birthday.

To my sweet "baby" boy:

This was a big year for you, as you started "big school".  It was a tough transition (for both us), but I am so proud of how far you came this year.  You battled through your anxiety, you made lots of friends, and you excelled academically.  I know you will continue to thrive as you enter Grade One (after we have a fantastic, fun-filled summer together).

On your 6th birthday, I want you to know that I am very proud to be your mom, and here are some of the reasons you are such a special little boy:
  • You have a sweet smile, a gentle spirit, and adorable dimples.
  • You love to crawl in bed with me for a "morning cuddle"... and I love it too!
  • You have a fantastic time playing sports with your brothers, and you want to be a hockey player when you grow up.
  • You love to eat crackers... especially while sitting on the couch watching "Jake and the Neverland Pirates".
  • You are getting very grown up... but you still say "bees" instead of "because".  I am guessing this cute habit won't last much longer, so I will enjoy it while I can.
  • Your favorite color is green, and your favorite food is white cake with white icing.
  • You stick your tongue out when you are concentrating.
  • You can be shy and anxious in new situations and around people you don't know, but you are really starting to come out of your shell.  I think starting school has helped you gain confidence.
  • You still love to snuggle up and read stories... and now you are able to read to me. You love to read, and you are getting very good at it.
  • You have a wonderful sense of humour, and you enjoy making Daddy, your brothers and I laugh.
I love you to the moon and back my darling angel, and I hope you have a fun time at your "Carnival" birthday party.

Lots of love,

Mommy

Birthday Letter to My Oldest Boy... turning 9

In keeping with tradition, today I wrote a birthday letter to my oldest son on his 9th birthday.  He continues to be a sweet and caring boy, and I continue to be proud to be his mother.

To my awesome oldest son,

As you get older, you are changing and becoming more independent, but you still have the same kind heart you have always had.  You really are a sweet, well-rounded boy, and I love you more each day.

Here are a few of the reasons that you are the most special 9 year old in the whole world:

  • You give everything you do 110%.  Your focus and intensity is something Daddy and I really admire about you.
  • You were recently voted co-captain of your hockey team (by your teammates), and Daddy and I are proud that you were recognized for your strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • You love playing with your brothers... especially mini sticks, basketball, and chess.  I love that you are all good buddies.
  • You love Friday night because we always have pancakes and watch a movie together as a family.  I'm happy that you aren't too old to snuggle with your mother.
  • You love choir and playing your guitar (when we have a little time away from the rink).
  • You still call me Mommy, and I love it... even though I know it will likely come to an end soon.
  • You love peanut butter sandwiches and would eat them at every meal if I let you.
  • Your favorite color is red, your hockey number is 7, and you want to be a hockey player when you grow up (after attending university, of course).

Happy birthday my little angel.  You may be 9, but you'll always be my first baby.

Lots of Love,

Mommy

Birthday Letter {to my middle son turning 7}

My second born son turns 7 today, and in keeping with tradition, I have written him a birthday letter.  It is my way of capturing all the little details that I don't want to forget when he is older.  Here are some of the reasons my adorable 7 year old is so special:

To my sweet boy,

I can't believe that you are turning 7 today.  Time goes by so quickly, and I am really making an effort to treasure every moment of your childhood.  You are full of energy and life, and I am grateful that I have you for my son.  Here are a few reasons that you are such a wonderful little boy.

  • You lost your first teeth this year (three of them)... but you still have a killer smile.
  • Your favorite color is blue, and you love watching Star Wars.
  • You are turning into an excellent reader, and I love all the notes you write me in your "Mommy and Me" journal.
  • You are a natural athlete.  You recently won your first trophy at Tir Nan Og (a track meet), and Mommy and Daddy were very proud of you.
  • You are fantastic at fixing and building things.  You love LEGO, and you want to "fix things" when you grown up.
  • You have tons of friends.  When you go out, you are always waving and smiling at someone you know.
  • You continue to love playing with your brothers.  Some of your favorite games are: hockey, soccer, baseball, cars, pirates, and Star Wars.  (You are great at acting out scenes from Star Wars with pool noodle light sabres.  You are an awesome Jedi!)
  • You have a really big heart.  When I am sick, you give me your "blankie" to make me feel better and you cry at sad movies.  You also made cards for everyone on Father's Day so no one would feel left out.
I love you to the moon and back... and more each day.

Love, Mommy xoxo

Happy Birthday Baby Boy! {birthday letter to my 5 year old}

To my darling baby boy,

Today you turn five, in less than two months, you will be starting "big" school.  I am so happy that we have had so much time together before this big step in your life.  I will always treasure our lunches, walks, crafting sessions, and snuggles on the couch reading stories.  I am slightly sad to see you getting older and more independent, but I am so proud of the sweet little boy you have become.  Here are a few of the things that make you so special:
  • You love to snuggle on the couch (with "big blanket") and read stories.
  • When you grow up, you want to be an "X-Men" hockey player, and you want to be #11 (like your older brother).
  • You are super-funny, and you always like to make Daddy and I (and your brothers) laugh.
  • Your favorite color is green, and you always want to eat your cereal out of a green bowl.
  • Your favorite show is Jake and the Neverland Pirates, and you chose it as the theme of your birthday party this year.
  • You love music, and I often catch you singing when you don't think anyone is listening.
  • You had a great time in Florida this year, and you often talk about the fun we had at Disney.  (You were a pro at Jedi Training Camp!)
  • You love playing hockey, soccer and baseball... and you are so happy that it is finally "your turn" to have your own teams and jerseys... instead of being dragged around to all your brothers' practices.
  • You stick your tongue out when you are concentrating.
  • You are shy with people you don't know, but you really come out of your shell around family and friends... and when you get on a stage.
  • You always ask me to sing you a "soft song" when you go to bed, and your favorite is "Mum-a-bye" (aka "Hush Little Baby").  I love that you still play with my hair as I sing.
I love you all the way to the moon and back... plus a little more each year.

Love,

Mommy xoxo

PS (I apologize in advance for the fact that I am going to cry like a baby on your first day of school.  I hope I don't embarrass you too badly.)

Happy Birthday {Letter} to my 7 Year Old

I can't believe that I have been a mother for 7 years.  How is it possible that it seems like yesterday, and yet I can barely remember my life before?

Each year, I write my boys letters on their birthdays, and I hope to make them into books when they are older.  Here is my letter to my oldest son on his 7th birthday:

Dear Cameron,

Whenever I think of you, the word "angel" always comes to mind.  You are such a special boy, and you have such a kind heart.  Here are just a few of the things that make you such a fantastic 7 year old.
  • You are a great big brother.  Little brothers can sometimes be a pain, but you are patient and kind with them, and they love you very much.
  • You are losing lots of baby teeth now, and your toothless grin is very cute.
  • You are developing a great sense of humour, and you are always laughing at the crazy antics of your little brothers.
  • You always try your best, and you are determined to succeed when you are trying something new.  This summer, you learned to ride a two wheeler, and you were very proud.
  • You love to draw, read and write stories.  You are very creative, and you want to be an Actor {in movies} when you grow up.
  • You love pancakes, cookies, pizza, and peanut butter sandwiches.
  • Your favorite sport is hockey, and you never complain about hockey practice... even when it is early in the morning.  {You even sleep with two hockey player "stuffies".}
  • You still let me kiss and hug you when I drop you off at school, but you are starting to check to see if anyone is around before you kiss me back.  :-(
  • You love Star Wars and never get tired of playing "Jedi" with your brothers.
  • You have lots of great friends, and I am not surprised because you are an awesome kid!
Happy Birthday, my sweet angel!  You may be seven, but you will always be my first baby.

Lots of Love,

Mommy  xoxo

Birthday Letter {to my five year old}

Today my "middle" son turns five.  It sounds so old... more like a little boy than a preschooler.  {big sigh}  I am amazed at how fast my boys are growing up, and so grateful for the opportunity to be part of their journey.

As you probably already know, I have a tradition of writing the boys a "Birthday Letter" each year on their birthdays.  It is my way of documenting and remembering the little details of my boys' personalities at different ages.  Here is a snapshot of my sweet "second born" son at five.

To my sweet five year old boy,

Here are a few of the reasons why you are the most special five year old in the whole world...

  • You are very clever, and extremely funny.  {Daddy and I are always amazed and amused by the things that come out of your mouth.}
  • You are so excited about starting "Big School", and you were a superstar at your Preschool graduation.
  • When you grow up, you want to be a hockey player, a race car driver, and "parachuter".  {I think you might be trying to give me a heart attack!  lol}
  • You love playing with dogs, watching for birds, and picking up worms.  :-)
  • Your favorite shows are "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" and "Wild Kratts", and your favorite color is "red".
  • You are very kind and generous.  If you have a special treat, you always give me a bite without me even having to ask.  {You also give sweet and gentle hugs and kisses.}
  • You are fun, full of personality, and people are drawn to you.  {I can totally see why!}
  • You still love your special "blankie", suck your thumb, and twirl your hair when you are tired.
  • You love to sing and dance, and you put all your emotions into every word and step.
You are a very special little boy.  Happy Birthday my kind-hearted sweetie!

Love,

Mommy

Birthday Letter {to my three year old}

Today, my baby boy turns three.

I believe birthdays are big milestones for children, and they always make me pause and think about how special these years are with my little boys.  In an attempt to remember the little details of my boys' personalities at different ages, I came up with the idea of writing each boy a "Birthday Letter" each year.  Here is a snapshot of my "baby" boy at three.  :-)
To my sweet three year old boy,

Here are a few of the reasons why you are the most special three year old in the whole world...
  • You always say, "Do you wonder ...?"  {e.g. I was reading a story and you had a blanket on your head.  You said, "Mommy, do you wonder where this voice is coming from?}
  • You are really funny.  {You are always making Daddy and I laugh.}
  • You are hungry all the time, and you eat like a bird when I give you a meal.  {I think you would live on crackers if I let you.}
  • You are a parrot... and repeat everything your "brudders" say.
  • You love playing soccer, baseball, and hockey with Daddy and your "brudders".
  • Your favorite show is "The Wiggles", and your favorite color is "green".
  • You give great cuddles, and you love to play with my hair... especially when you are sleepy.
  • You are super proud that you now have a "real bed" and "big boy underwear".  {I am proud of you, but it reminds me that you are no longer a baby, and it makes me a little sad.}
  • You have a special blanket that you call "Big Blanket".  You like to take off your socks so you can feel how soft your blanket is... with your feet.  :-)
  •  You always give Mommy big hugs and gentle kisses, and I treasure every one.
Happy Birthday!  I love you "all the way to the moon" my little angel.

Love,

Mommy

Happy 6th Birthday (Birthday Letter)

My oldest "baby" turns six today.  Why does six seem so much older than five?  It hurts my heart a little to see him getting so grown up, but I am so proud of the little boy he is growing up to be.

Earlier this year, I came up with the idea of writing letters to my boys each year on their birthdays.  Here is my birthday letter to my darling first born son:

You are such a special boy.... my little angel.  Here are just a few of the things that make you my favorite six year old in the whole wide world.  :-)
  • You have a kind heart, and you always want to help others.
  • You are an awesome big brother.  You are patient and kind, and your little brothers love you very much... and they love all the adventures you take them on.
  • Your little boy laugh (especially when Daddy tickles you) makes me smile.
  • You always try your best and give 100% when trying anything new.
  • You love to draw (and you are great with detail).  Every day when you get home from school, you ask me for a piece of paper and a peanut butter sandwich.
  • Your favorite movie is The Fox and the Hound, your favorite food is a peanut butter sandwich, and your favorite sport is Hockey.
  • You have lots of friends, and you love when the girls chase you at recess.
  • You still let me kiss and hug you when I drop you off at school.  I know it won't last forever, but I cherish every one I am getting now.
Happy Birthday, Sweetheart!  You may be six, but you will always be my first baby.

Lots of Love,

Mommy  xoxo

Birthday Letter to my Awesome Four Year Old

Today, my middle son turns four. (If anyone knows how I can slow down time, please comment below.)

Here is our first picture together.

Last week (when my youngest turned two), I came up with the idea of writing "Birthday Letters" for each boy every year on their birthday.  Here is this year's birthday letter for my spunky, second born son.

Today you turn four.  I can hardly believe you have gotten so big, and I am happy that I still have one more year with you before you start "big boy" school.  We have a lot of playing and cuddling to do before then!  :-)

Here is a "snap shot" of what makes you the most special four year old in the whole world.
    • I love the way you say the color "lellow"
    • You idolize your big brother, and run to greet him with a big hug when he gets off the school bus.
    • You love your little brother -- you are buddies, and you love to play with him and teach him things.
    • You love to cuddle, and you need to sit on my lap when I read you stories.
    • You love playing sports.... anything with a ball or a puck.
    • When you watch "Super Why", you sing the theme song at the top of your lungs, and it makes me smile every time.
    • Sometimes, when you are trying to get my attention, you yodel.  (You are always making Daddy and I laugh!)
    • You love to sing and dance.  (Dancing to Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal is one of your favorites.  You always wear a black hat and take it very seriously.)
    • You love when Daddy tickles you.
    • You love baking with Mommy.
    • You love playing cars with your brothers, and you want to be a race car driver when you grow up.  (I sure hope you change your mind and decide to do something less dangerous.)
    • You always cuddle your Blankie, suck your thumb, and play with your hair when you are tired.
    • You have an adorable and infectious giggle.
    • You give big hugs and soft kisses.
Happy Birthday my little Owen B.!  Mommy loves you very much!

    Love, Mommy xoxox

Happy Birthday Baby Boy (Birthday Letter)

Today, my baby boy turns two. (Not sure how that happened... time goes by so quickly.)  Check out the picture of when we first met -- a sweetie pie from the very start!  :-)

Birthdays get me thinking about how fast time goes by, and how special these years are with my little boys.  I want to remember the little details, and I came up with the idea of a "Birthday Letter" -- which I wish I had thought of earlier (but better late than never, right?)  I am going to try and do a letter for each boy every year on their birthday.

Here is this year's birthday letter to my sweet boy:

    To my baby boy,

Today you turn two... it seems like just yesterday you came into our lives and completed our family.  Here is a "snap shot" of what makes you the most special two year old in the whole world.
    • You have very good manners, and have the sweetest voice when you say, "Thank you, Mommy".  I melt a little every time.
    • You love to cuddle... especially at bedtime, and you always play with my hair when you are tired.
    • You have a special blanket, and you always want to cover yourself in it... even when it is super hot.
    • You love when Daddy tickles you.
    • You love to play with your brothers, and you follow them everywhere.  You especially love playing hide-and-seek, hockey, and cars.
    • When I tuck you in, you always whisper, "Good night, Mommy.  I love you."  I always leave your room smiling.
    • Your favorite foods are: Cheeseburgers, Pizza, and Cookies (just like Daddy).
    • Your favorite shows are: Curious George, Super Why, and The Wiggles.
    • Your favorite books are:  Good Night Moon, Brown Bear, and any book about Hockey.
    • You love music and dancing... and I love to listen to you sing and watch you dance.  (You are definitely trying to keep up with your brothers, and you are doing a great job.)
Happy Birthday sweet Jackie-Jack!  Mommy loves you very much!

    Love, Mommy xoxox

Isn't he just the cutest two year old?  :-)
