Teacher Treat for Halloween

When you are putting together Halloween treats for your child's class, don't forget to include a special treat for the teacher.  Here's a "quick treat" you can put together in a few minutes.

Cute, right?

1) Start with a king size chocolate bar.
2) Wrap the bar in gauze or strips of cheese cloth... securing with tape or glue as you wrap it.
3) Use glue to attach two googly eyes.
4) Add a cute tag.

Putting some treats in an inexpensive Halloween wine glass is easy and fun too!

I'm sure your favorite teacher would love a little chocolate to help get through the afternoon. It's not a lot of effort, so why not take a few minutes to show a hard-working teacher that you appreciate all they do for your little one? Happy Halloween!

First Day of School Class Treats/Gifts

Today was the first day of school for my boys, and as always, they each took presents for their teachers and new classmates.  I think this is an important tradition for us because it teaches the boys about the importance of giving, and it gives them a little boost of confidence on their first day.  This year each boy chose their own gifts.

My four year old chose to bring his Preschool classmates LEGO crayons.  We made these gifts by melting down broken crayons in a LEGO mold and attaching a note that said, "I am looking forward to building a friendship with you".

My six year old chose to bring his Grade One class a container filled with "Smarties".  We added a note that said, "For the Grade One Smarties".

My seven year old chose to bring his Grade Three class a couple of bags of cookies.  We added a note that said, "For the Grade Three smart cookies".

And of course, we couldn't leave out the new teachers.  Each boy brought their new teacher a crayon pencil holder and a flower pen.

I found some inexpensive pen holders and crayons at the dollar store.  Then, I just used a glue gun to attach the crayons.  Simple! {...and you can find the tutorial for the flower pen here.}

I can't wait for my boys to get home from school.  Isn't it fun hearing about the first day?

DIY Teacher Gift {Flower Pens}

This is my favorite kind of project..... an easy and inexpensive DIY gift!  My boys wanted to take something to their teachers on the first day of school, so I decided to make some pretty "flower pens".

All you need are some fake flowers, pens, and floral tape.

Step 1:  Cut the flower so that it is slightly shorter than the pen.

Step 2:  Wrap the tape around the pen and flower.  {I started in the middle, wrapped to the bottom, and then wrapped to the top.}

”Tip

Step 3:  Pinch the end to seal.

That's it!  Easy, cute and practical.  What teacher wouldn't love a bouquet of these pens on the first day of school?
