Also, if you make a purchase using one of my affiliate links, you will not pay any extra, but I may get a small commission on your purchase. Thank you!**

My boys eat, sleep, and breath hockey. If they aren't playing hockey, they are watching it or talking about it. So at Christmas, it's no surprise "hockey" gifts are at the top of everyone's list. Today, I am sharing some of my favourite gifts for the hockey fan in your house. I have something for everyone in the family at every price point... and I have a giveaway at the bottom of this post too!

Here are some great ideas for hockey products that are sure to bring a smile to the face of the hockey player in your house.

Teags & Ry Hats - How cute are these unique hockey hats from Teags & Ry? My boys love them... and they are good quality too. Check out all the wonderful hat options from Teags & Ry here.

Gongshow clothes - My boys love the style and comfort of these high quality hockey clothes, and the hockey skate lace details are awesome. Gongshow has great clothes for kids, but hockey moms and dads will love the Gongshow fashions too. You can check out Gongshow clothing here.

NHL 19 - If your hockey fan loves video games, you probably already have the latest version of this game on your list. My boys LOVE playing this on their PS4, and you can order it here.

Gongshow sauceoff party set - The rink isn't always open, and Gongshow has some great games that can be played off the ice and any time of year. We love our Gongshow sauceoff party set, which you can find here.

Heating pad for cold feet - If you are shopping for someone that spends a lot of time at the rink, chances are they suffer with cold hands and feet... and this heating pad may be the perfect gift for them. You can order it from Amazon here.

Hockey Mom / Dad Survival Kit - If you are someone who likes to DIY, you might want to create your own gift basket for the hockey mom or dad in your life. Don't forget a warm blanket, warm socks, a coffee mug with gift card, and a tasty treat.

Gongshow bags - Everyone needs a good bag for hockey gear, overnight trips, and transporting school books, and Gongshow has some functional and fashionable options. My boys have the hockey bag and the backpack, and they love them... and you can buy them here.

Hockey stocking stuffers - There are many fun options for hockey-themed stocking stuffers, and I have included three of my favourites below.

     1) These sneaker balls are great for stinky hockey bags.

     2) These custom ornaments (from Personalization Mall) are perfect for the hockey-lovers Christmas tree.

     3) And these cool Gongshow socks are great for chilling out and watching the game.

Hockey-themed labels and wall decals from Oliver's Labels - Personalized labels and wall decals make wonderful gifts for kids. I've recovered a lot of my boys clothes because of name labels, and how cute is this large jersey wall decal?

Hockey bag and travel coffee mug from Teags & Ry - This duffle bag is the perfect gift for the hockey mom in your life. It's cute, and there is lots of room for all the rink essentials. It's a great overnight bag too! (And don't forget to get mom one of these cute travel mugs. A hot coffee will keep her warm, awake, and ready to cheer!) You can find tons of fantastic Teags & Ry products here.

Hockey picture canvas from Canvas Factory - It's easy to create unique artwork with your favourite hockey picture. Check out the cute canvas picture I made for my youngest son using a picture from a hockey camp he attended this summer. You can order your favourite photo here.

And... because I love contests during the holidays, I am giving you a chance to WIN a canvas like the one I had made. Great, right? You can enter below. (Note: Contest is open to US and Canadian residents only.) LEAVE a comment in the comments section below (and click the box in the Rafflecopter widget... and don't forget the bonus entries!)

Bonding with The Beatles (and a giveaway from Netflix)

winner: Courtney Comeau

I've always loved music, and I have been a huge fan of The Beatles since I was a child. I have many memories of listening to Beatles' albums with my Dad as he explained the evolution of their music and the huge impact it had on so many other artists. Now, I am the mom of a new generation of Beatles fans, and together, we are celebrating the new Beatles inspired "Beat Bugs" on Netflix. Check out my boys' cover of the show's theme song All You Need is Love.

Seriously... how cute are my boys?

With the new Netflix original series Beat Bugs, my family is singing along to classics such as Lucy in the Sky with DiamondsHelpBlackbird, and All You Need is Love. The Beat Bugs (five charming and energetic bug-like creatures) are totally adorable, and the show is full of kid-friendly story-lines and Beatles music re-recorded by today's top artists, including Pink, Sia and Eddie Vedder.

If you love The Beatles, you need to check out Beat Bugs with your kids. And... if you don't already subscribe to Netflix, I have a three month subscription card to give away to a lucky reader. To enter, all you have to do is:

1) Create your own family cover of "All You Need Is Love", and post it on social media using #BeatBugs. (Feel free to tag me too!)

2) Email me the link to your social media post. (Send it to EastCoastMommy@gmail.com.)

3) I'll select a winner the morning of Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
Note: This subscription is for Netflix Canada, so the contest is open to Canadians only.

I hope you watch this great new show with your kids, and I can't wait to see your videos!

FREE e-books and a chance to win a $100 Visa Gift Card - CLOSED

Winner - Michelle Tremblett (Thanks to everyone that took the time to enter.)

Recently, I was asked to check out "The Adventures of Napkin Man" e-books with my 5 year old.  I easily downloaded the three e-books {for free} onto my iPad, and they were a hit with my little guy... and his two big brothers.

This is the first time I have ever downloaded e-books for my kids, and I had a great experience.  Each of these e-books starts with a tale a child facing an emotional challenge, and then the story provides coping strategies in an entertaining way.  These e-books are highly interactive and intuitive, and they include a series of activities, songs and games.

Here are the links to the 3 e-books (for iPad) that my boys and I downloaded and read:

Penguin-A-Go-Go Messaging around calming down

Treasure for All Messaging around sharing

Say Hello Messaging around shyness

Free e-books are awesome... but that's not the only good news I am sharing today.  I also have a $100 VISA gift card to give away to one of Canadian readers.  (As Napkin Man can only be read on iPads and downloaded through iTunes, maybe the winner could put the $100 toward his/her own iPad, or purchasing other educational material.)

To enter, please leave a comment below letting me know which e-book your little one would be most interested in reading.  Don't forget to leave your email address (if you don't have one linked to your profile), so that I can contact you if you win. Contest closes February 8th.

Enjoy the e-books, and good luck with the giveaway!

Lunchbox Treats, a FREE printable, and a GIVEAWAY from Dare

Recently, my boys and I were invited to test out the new nut-free Dare cookies featuring Wowbutter (which tastes like peanut butter but is totally nut-free).  I was excited at the chance to add some variety to my boys lunches, and so were my boys.

Each of the boys quickly picked a favorite.  My oldest loved the Wowbutter Wagon Wheels, my middle son chose the chocolate chip and Wowbutter Bear Paw minis, and my youngest really enjoyed the Bear Paws morning snack with wowbutter and strawberries.

My boys love the taste of these new snacks, and I love that they are a tasty source of protein with no artificial colours.  They are the perfect peanut-free addition to school lunch boxes, and they would be great for class treats and loot bags.

To make our new snacks a little more fun, I decided to design some cute lunchbox notes to attach to the "bear paws".  I think my boys will get a kick out of my little puns when they find them at lunch time.

To print your own 4X6 sheet of lunchbox notes, right click on the picture below, save it to your computer, and print it like a regular photo.  Then, cut the tags, and attach them to the treats with a stapler or tape.  Cute, right?

And... in addition to these free lunchbox notes, I have another treat for you today... a chance to win a Dare Prize Pack (ARV$75).  This prize would definitely make packing lunches a little easier!

To enter for a chance to win Dare cookies, lunchbox containers, an ice pack, a water bottle, a lunch bag, a backpack, and a $25 Visa/Mastercard gift card, simply leave a comment below letting me know which of these Wowbutter treats from Dare would be a favorite in your house.  (Don't forget to leave me your email address if you don't have one linked to your profile) so that I can contact you if you win.  This contest is open to Canadian residents and closes Monday, September 22, 2014.  WINNER: Andrea - "Bears Paws are a staple in our house, and this is great!! School friendly! Thanks for the chance."

You'll also want to head to www.darefoods.com to learn more about their great products and visit the Dare Bear Paws facebook page to stay up to date on their latest news, promotions and contests.

Enjoy the lunchbox notes, and don't forget to enter the contest.  It's a great prize.  Good luck!

Fajita Friday... and a great giveaway from Old El Paso - CLOSED

*Winner is Lori's Place.

Every Friday I let the boys have pancakes for supper.  It has become a bit of a tradition in our house -- ending the week with pancakes for supper and a family movie.  The boys love their pancake supper, but my husband and I aren't keen on them, so this week we decided to start our own tradition... Fajita Friday!

And because the kids weren't sharing our dinner, I made the Old El Paso "hot & spicy" version, and they were delicious!  Don't you just love it when a plan comes together and everyone gets what they want?  I even added a little "Mexican Flair" to my boys' family movie night snacks.  How cute is this margarita glass full of Skittles?

Old El Paso wants to help you "spice" things up on your dinner table, so they have put together an "Old El Paso Prize Pack" (worth approx $75), and I have one to give away to one of you lovely readers.  Just enter below, and you will be on your way to your own #TacoTuesday or #FajitaFriday Fiesta.

To enter, just leave a comment below letting me know which you prefer... #TacoTuesday or #FajitaFriday.  (Don't forget to log in or leave me your email address.)  This contest runs until September 30th, 2013, and is open to Canadian residents only.  {You may enter across multiple blogs, but you may only win one prize.}

This contest is now CLOSED.  The winner of the Avon FOOTWORKS products is Comment #4 (Dawn Oliver).

No one warned me that becoming a mother would mean I would no longer have any time to properly look after myself.  Taking a shower has become somewhat of a luxury these days.  lol!

So, when Tammie (from Pampered by Tammy) contacted me about reviewing (and giving away) some Avon foot products, I knew I had to say "yes".

Lavender Comfort Foot Soak {my favorite}

I was not disappointed.  I tried: FOOTWORKS Triple Smooth Foot Scrub, FOOTWORKS Lavender Comfort Foot Soak, FOOTWORKS Therapeutic Cracked Heel Relief Cream, FOOTWORKS Tropical Coconut Foot Lotion, and Avon's Nailwear Pro polish.

I will spare you the before and after pictures, but take my word for it, my feet look and feel a hundred times better than they did a week ago.

So... ready for some pampering???

As a new mom, it is common to feel isolated from the outside world.  When my first son was born, one of my favorite things to do (to keep myself sane) was go to "mom and baby" movies.  Empire Theatres has a great program called Reel Babies.  If there is one where you live, you should totally check it out.  :-)

Twice a month you can enjoy a new-release movie in a baby-friendly environment.  Each theatre is equipped with a change table, bottle warmer, play mat and swing... and they keep the lights on dim and lower the volume a bit.

Now, for the exciting part:  I have 10 tickets to give away,  and I am going to give them away in five pairs.  Fun, right?
All you have to do is leave a comment (below this post) telling me your favorite family movie.  If you don't have a Reel Babies near you, you can always enter and give them to a friend if you win.

Contest closes November 9, 2011.  (If you aren't logged in when you comment, don't forget your email address.)

Thanks for sharing, and good luck!

Brother Labeller - Review and GIVEAWAY - CLOSED

Giveaway CLOSED.  The winner is Comment # 10
Amanda (ANCFraser@aol.com)

OK... I need to confess... I don't spend nearly enough time cleaning my house.  If you come visit me, you are likely to find toys all over my floor, and my beds may be unmade {gasp!}.  (I sure hope my mother doesn't read this.  :-)

However... I  am very organized, so when Brother Canada sent me a P-Touch PT-1100SBVP Labeller to review, I was super excited!

I tested it by labelling my son's school supplies, but I plan on using it to organize my craft room in the very near future.  It will also come in handy if I ever get around to some scrap-booking projects on my "to do" list because it comes with Acid Free Tape.

The test:  I initially printed some labels on my home computer, but they started to peel off after a couple of hours.  So, I relabelled everything with my new labeller, and it was awesome.  Not only did they stick really well, but they had cute borders and designs that my son could choose from.  Check it out:

WITHOUT my new labeller
WITH my new labeller
One happy customer!
So... here is the best part.  I have one to give away to one of my readers.  Just comment below (with your email address if you aren't logged in), and let me know how you would use your new label maker.  Pretty easy, right?  Good luck!
