Start with your favorite peanut butter cookie recipe.
Here's the one I used:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
Directions:
- In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to combine butter, peanut butter, and sugars.
- Add baking soda and baking powder, and beat until combined.
- Add egg and vanilla, and beat again.
- Stir in flour.
- Form the dough into hearts:
- Form a tablespoon of dough into a ball.
- Flatten slightly with your hand.
- Mold into a heart shape.
- Use a fork to flatten cookie and make a crisscross pattern.
- Place on cookie sheet, and bake in preheated oven (at 375 degrees) for 7-10 minutes.
- Transfer to wire rack to cool.
