A Simplified Version of BOOing The Neighbours

My boys have been "Booing" our neighbours since 2011, and although they are getting older, it's still a tradition they enjoy. If you have never "Boo'ed" the neighbours on Halloween, you should give it a try. It's simple and a lot of fun!

Basically, you bag up treats, add a sheet of instructions, and "secretly" deliver treats to neighbours. (i.e. You ring the doorbell, leave the treats, and run away.)

To download the sign that you include with the treats: click on the image below, right-click, save it to your computer, and print it like a regular 8X10 photo.

Pretty simple, right?

You only need to leave treats for two neighbours, but you can deliver more treats if you like. My boys always like to leave treats for several of their friends. Here are the treat packages they will be delivering this year...

If you have any questions about "Booing", let me know. It really is a fun Halloween activity. Kids love it, but there is no reason adults couldn't do it too. People of ALL ages like treats, right?!?

Happy Halloween!

PS... Check out this adorable picture of the first year that my boys went "Booing". Pretty cute... if I do say so myself! 😀

The Best Halloween Tradition: BOOing

Boo'ing is one of our family's favourite tradition. Basically, you sneak up to a house, ring the door, and run away... while leaving treats behind. We have been doing it for years, and it is always a Halloween highlight for us.

If you have never done it before, you need to print off two copies of the instructions and the "We've Been Boo'ed" sign. To download and print the signs: click on the photos below, right-click, save them to your computer, and print them like regular 8x10 photos. I get mine printed at the local copy store.

Then, you leave notes behind with some treats. This year, we are leaving behind gloves filled with goodies. Cute, right?

My boys can't wait to get out "BOOing" and leave behind some of our treats.

Have you ever tried "BOOing"? If you haven't, I highly recommend giving it a try this Halloween. It really is one of our favourite Halloween traditions.

5 Years of "booing" the Neighbours

"Booing" our neighbours has been a tradition in our house for many years. If you aren't familiar with "booing", here's how it works... you wait until after dark, sneak up to your neighbours' houses, and try and leave treats without getting caught.

This year, we decided to make different types of treats and deliver them at different times... to prevent our neighbours from figuring out the source of the "booing". We made some Halloween Candy Bark and some Ginger Halloween Cookies.

If you have never tried "booing", you totally should! It really is a fantastic Halloween activity. Here's a look back at the fun my boys have had over the last few years:

2011 - This was the first year my boys tried "booing". They were super-cute and super-excited, and you can read all about it here.

2012  - We found adorable ghost buckets at the dollar store, and filled them with mini chocolate bars. You can read all about it here.

2013 - We got creative and designed a new version of the "you've been BOO'ed" printables, which you can download here. We switched it up and "boo'ed" the neighbours with Kinder Surprises. It was lots of fun, and you can read all about it here.

2014 - We stepped it up with a new design and some adorable packaging. You can read all about it, and download the printables for FREE, here.

"Booing" has created a lot of memories for my boys, and I know it will be part of our Halloween celebrations for many years to come.

Boo Your Neighbours {free printable}

Every year, we "boo" our neighbours, and every year I try to come up with new {adorable} printables to go with our treats.  If you aren't familiar with "booing", here's how it works... you wait until after dark, sneak up to your neighbours' houses, and try and leave treats without getting caught.  "Booing" is a favorite Halloween tradition in our house.

To print a copy of the "booing" printables I designed, right click on the pictures below, save them to your computer, and print them like normal 8X10 photos.  I sent mine to Staples (our local copy store), and printed them for $.39 each.

Aren't they cute?  Our treat packages are ready to go, and my boys can't wait to sneak around and "boo" the neighbours.

Booing 2013... our Halloween tradition continues

Every year, for Halloween, my boys "boo" the neighbors   If you aren't familiar with "boo"ing, it involves dropping a secret gift off to a neighbor without being detected.  It is a really fun Halloween tradition, and this year, given that I am now a Kinder Ambassador, we decided to "change it up" by adding Kinder® Surprise® eggs to our "boo"ing packages.

Cute, right???  My boys love running around the neighborhood delivering their treats.

If you want to give "booing" a try with your little ones, you can download the instructions and signs here.

I think our neighbors are going to be thrilled with their treats this year, as the eggs are part of Kinder's® newest partnership with Disney Princesses and Marvel Heroes. Two in three eggs within specially-marked Kinder® Surprise® packages will contain a limited edition toy.

My boys are big fans of Super Heroes, so these eggs are very popular in our house.  They love to dress up as Super Heroes.

And, of course, we have hosted a super-fun Super Hero birthday party.

Do you have any Princess or Super Hero fans in your house?  Who is your little one's favorite?

Boo'ing... free printables

Every year, the boys and I "Boo" the neighbours. "Booing" involves...secretly...leaving treats on a neighbours doorstep.  {You can read all about it here.}  This year, I decided it would be fun to create our very own "Boo"ing printables.  Here's what I came up with:

You can download your own copies here and here.

If you have never taken the kids "boo"ing, you should totally give it a try by following the instructions provided on the printable.  It's a great Halloween tradition, and it's lots of fun!

Happy "Boo"ing!

BOOING.... the tradition continues

Last year, we started a Halloween tradition with the boys --  "Booing" the neighbours.  "Booing" {or "Ghosting"} involves leaving treats, a note, and a "You've been Booed/Ghosted" sign for your neighbours.... secretly.... kind of like a "Secret Santa" for Halloween.  If you haven't tried it, you totally should because it is a ton of fun!

Here is a picture of my boys heading out on their "secret mission" this year.  I found some adorable ghost buckets at the dollar store, filled them with mini chocolate bars, and off they went!

... and here they are last year.  {I swear they enjoy this more than trick-or-treating.}

There are tons of different {free} printables on the web that you can use.  I designed one that you can find here, or you can google "booing" and you will find a bunch.

Do you think this is something your littles ones would like?

New Halloween Tradition -- Booing!

As you have probably already guessed, I love holiday traditions.  I really believe they are the foundation for great childhood memories.

So.... when family friends introduced us to "Ghosting" this year, I could not have been more excited.  "Ghosting" or "Booing" is a tradition where you leave treats, a note, and a "You've been Booed/Ghosted" sign for your neighbours.... secretly.... kind of like a Secret Santa for Halloween.  :-)

It is a ton of fun!

You can find the printable that we used (from The TomKat Studiohere, but there are tons of versions out there in blog world if you do a search.  Find your favorite, and HAPPY BOOING!
